BEING SENSITIVE

These pieces were are connected to memories of home, of growing up by the beach and the quiet imprints left by those who shape us.

These two sculptural vessels are reflections on the memories of my mother and the home we shared. She was a printmaker, I remember her teaching me how to crave lino blocks, etch and press copper plates. Her creative nature helped shape the foundation of my own practice today, one that values process, experimentation, and allows me to share personal narratives through form.

The pieces are both organic and figurative. The sandy clay reminds me of the coastal landscape I grew up in. After some time away, I’ve found myself living by the water again, and that return to the coastline has brought with it a strong sense of grounding and familiarity.

Each piece is made by hand, with small-carved elements and textured surfaces.

For me, being sensitive means staying connected to memory, to material, and to the stories that live quietly within us.
